Hi, I'm Rachel
Rachel McClenahan, LMSW
I help adults and teens navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relational conflict, parenting challenges, and faith formation. My goal is to help you feel more connected to yourself and others, develop healthy boundaries, and move toward a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. In our work together, I value humor and connection, and I believe growth happens when you feel both supported and gently challenged.
I received my Bachelor of Social Work from Grand Valley State University and my Master of Social Work from San Diego State University. My professional experience includes work in church ministry and in a group counseling practice. Outside of my work, I’m a wife and mother of three. These roles continually remind me of the importance of patience, joy, and grace. I believe meaningful change grows from genuine connection, and I strive to create that space in every session.
My approach to counseling
What you can expect in therapy sessions
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Helps you recognize and change unhelpful thought patterns, giving you practical tools for everyday life.
Parts Work (IFS)
Gently explores the different “parts” of you—like the critic, the protector, or the wounded child—so they can find healing and work together.
Family Systems
Looks at how family relationships and patterns shape your life, and helps you create healthier attachments moving forward.
Compassionate Communication
Equips you with new ways of speaking and listening that build understanding, resolve conflict, and strengthen connection.
Faith-Based
For clients who desire it, faith can be a source of strength and healing. If you are a person of faith, we can weave it into our time together.
Group Therapy
Provides a safe and supportive space to learn, grow, and practice new relational skills alongside others on a similar journey.
